Sustainability is the process of making corporate decisions that not only meet an organization’s needs for improved profitability but also benefits society as a whole, while minimizing its impact on the environment.

The course is designed to introduce participants to the basics of sustainability and reporting standards, its importance, the various reporting frameworks and how to get started with carbon ESG reporting.  Participants will get to understand the key components of sustainability report (eg. materiality assessment, metrics, computation of carbon footprint etc).

Scope 3 emissions are a category of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions originating from business operations by sources that are not directly owned or controlled by an organization, such as supply chain, transportation, product usage, or disposal. Also referred to as value chain emissions, they are the hardest to measure and reduce.

These indirect emissions from your upstream and downstream activities like purchasing goods and services or the use phase of products can make up 70-90% of your carbon footprint.

This course outlines key considerations businesses and public bodies must bear in mind when measuring and reporting Scope 3 emissions.
