On 3 November 2026, PlanetWise co-founder Anil Kanchi joined students and faculty at Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam in Tirupati as chief guest for a water conservation awareness programme. The university’s Department of Business Management and National Service Scheme (NSS) organised the session as part of a BRICS sustainability initiative.

Water conservation in everyday life

Kanchi discussed how students could prevent water waste, harvest rainwater and protect natural water sources. He encouraged them to use water sparingly in their daily lives and to preserve water resources for future generations. Professor Lalitha Kumari emphasised that conserving water is a responsibility shared by every citizen.

Putting the lesson into practice

After the session, students helped clean the university’s rainwater recharge pits. Clearing debris allows rainwater to soak into the ground, helping replenish groundwater. The activity showed students how maintaining existing rainwater harvesting structures can support water conservation on campus.
